Its the most wonderful time of the year..... Well except when it comes to figuring out how I am going to decorate the outside of my house. This year I decided it was time to take matters into my own hands. I started looking on Pinterest for some inspiration when I stumbled across a photo of the Grinch stealing Christmas lights and new this was the way to go.

I started out by using a piece of cardboard to start sketching out the shape.

After I was happy with the template I cut it out and traced it onto a 3/4 inch piece of plywood that I got for free :)

I sanded it down and primed the piece of wood using left over paint from another project.

Next I had to figure out how to cut the grinch out. After asking multiple people for help I decided to take matters into my own hands again and bought a Black and Decker Jigsaw. The jigsaw was very easy to use and it was a great investment for future projects!

Now that I had my shape cut out it was time to move onto painting my Grinch. I used leftover paint for this as well so another free item!

When I finished painting it I used a sharpie marker to the outline and the face.

I used a clear coat spray paint to protect the paint. Then found a cemetery wreath holder and attached it to the back to stake it down into the ground.

The last step was to hang the vintage Christmas lights similar to these (http://amzn.to/2C2nv35) around his hands to suggest he had pulled them down off of the house and used a spotlight shining on his body.

This project was free (except for the cost of the jigsaw) and took me about 4 hours to complete. .
